Classes for members and library card holder who have checked out a makerspace pass will be free Non-members will have a $10 class charge

CNC Router Safety
You will learn the basics you need to know to design your own CNC Router projects using vCarve Pro. Learn how to operate the CNC router and pass the required safety test. Additionally, create a mason jar/bottle caddy at the end of the class. You must attend all three sessions
Students must pass the CNC Router Safety test before being allowed to use the equipment outside of class

Customize Corn Hole
You will learn how to operate Inkscape, a free graphics creation and editing software, which includes creating vector graphics (SVG files). This class will focus on creating a custom Settlers of Catan board. The class will include both the required materials in addition to some files created specifically for the class. The class does not include cutting out the board but the non-member class fee will include laser time, which can be used at a later date.
Students must pass the laser safety test to cut out the Settlers of Catan board. A laser safety class will be offered the following day to accommodate those that have not participated in the class.

Laser Cut Appliques
After passing the laser safety class, you will realize that running the laser is the easy part, coming up with the ideas is more difficult. Save yourself the time of hand cutting all your applique shapes, but letting the laser do the cutting for you. Bring in scanned images (GIF,JPG, PNG) of the projects you want to create, and learn to use InkScape to cut what you need, reliably and reproducibly.
Bring your own fabric to use and practice with.

Hard To Resistor Jewelry
Use electrical components, such as resistors, to handcraft beautiful earrings!
Use your choice of electrical components to create beautiful earrings and learn the lost art of soldering to hold it all together. Designing is half the fun in this class.

Laser Etched Plant Stakes
After passing the laser safety class, you will realize that running the laser is the easy part. Use words and/or images to create unique and stunning plant markers for your garden, signs for food buffets, or gift tags.

Watering Stake
Learn what is different about the Kossel printer, what configuration settings to watch for, how to control it manually, what is different about your filament options, and other differences to be aware of. At the conclusion of the class, you can take and pass the Kossel 3D printer safety test. You are welcome to start a print of your PVC water stake, or come back at a time that is convenient to you.

Biodegradable Pot and Plant Tag
Hate buying starter pots every year, or can’t tell one seedling from the other? Like to give starters as gifts? Create a several biodegradable plant pot out of newspaper, then 3D print a labels for your pots.

Digitizing for Embroidery
Customize tea towels for hostess gifts, customize your beach towels so they don’t get lost at the pool, or create a cute logo for your jacket this summer. Do this by learning how to digitize a (GIF/JPG/PNG) image for use on an embroidery pattern. This class focuses on the use of the software and the digitization process.

Learn about why passwords matter, what is a strong password and how to create them and remember them more easily, what password managers are, and how to think about using them.

Advent Calendar
Create and assemble 25 green and red boxes to hang or display as an advent calendar using the laser cutter.
Use the laser cutter to cut boxes for your advent calendar. The calendar will be composed of six different shaped boxes raging in size from 2 ½ inches to 4 ½ inches. They can be hung on a tree or string, or set out on a table or shelf. Perfect sized boxes for Legos, lip balm, or other small gifts or goodies. Punch paper shapes for number stickers and decide which shapes you want in which order. Each student will leave with 25 assorted boxes in red and green and will have time to assemble their boxes, cut a few boxes on the laser, and place their sticker numbers on the boxes. This is a hands on class.

Smoker Controller
Create the perfect setup for summer and winter smoking! Check your smoker temp via your cell phone and control your smoker temp (with correct smoker controller). Learn how to leverage an Arduino to make this beauty and become the wizard expert you always wanted to be!

Automatice Fish Feeder
3D print a case then use an Arduino and servo to create your personalized fish feeder! Learn some Arduino programming and circuitry. Passing the 3D printer safety test is required prior to 3D printing your case. Use what you learn to customize and make a dog, cat, Guinea pig, rat, etc feeder

CNC Mill
You will learn the basics you need to know to design your own CNC Mill projects. We will learn 3D modeling techniques and conversational/interactive milling, creating tool paths, and how to safely setup and operate our Tormach 770 CNC Machine.

Junk Pile Jewelry
It’s Girls Night Out! Come create something from nothing. We will provide the junk, you provide some small hand tools and all the creativity! Each meeting we will use a different type of junk, but will end with great jewelry from the ashes. As a group, we will don our jewelry and walk over to WYOld West Brewery, where you will receive a free pint of beer!

Crayon Fidget Spinners
A great family activity to create your own single bearing fidget spinner using melted crayons.
This is a great activity to do together as a family, parent child class, big brother/big sister. Want to get in the on craze? Be one of the first to have a fidget spinner made of crayons. Create a mold and design of your making or mold a spinner you bring with you. You can fidget and color all with the same spinner of your unique design.

ROBOTICS
We know you have mentioned it, the kids get all the fun, so this one is for you! Come take this six week class series to learn about programming a LEGO EV3 robot! This class is designed for the 18+ crowd and no previous experience is necessary. Each class is 1 ½ hours long and builds on the previous class material.

Learn what all the fuss is about, what you can do with a laser, and what you can’t. Find out how to properly and safely run the machine so that you can start creating on your own. Create Your Own Website
Learn about the variety of tools and skills needed to create websites and things to consider when designing a website or having one designed.
This class will cover tools and techniques for different website design giving you the information to know if website design is for you. Domain name selection, registration, and site hosting considerations will be covered as well. The class will conclude by helping you sign-up for a free website designer and guiding you through the process of using a pre-defined template as a web design option.

3D PRINTER SAFETY
Learn what a 3D printer is, how it works, what are the pinch points and hot spots, what types of 3D printers there are and how to load the filament. See a variety of items made with the 3D printer and at the conclusion of the class you can choose to take a safety test for using the 3D printer. Once you have passed the 3D printer, use the 3D printer to print a whistle with no moving parts. Intro to Arduino Programming
Learn to build custom electronics projects with an Arduino.
Arduinos are low cost and easy to use microcontrollers. With an Arduino, you can build interactive objects that can sense and control things. Some sample projects include an automatic plant waterer, interactive light displays, and DIY weather stations.
This class will cover what an Arduino is, how to use it with different sensors and outputs, and where to find great resources online for more in-depth projects in the future.

Learn to design a shaped cookie cutter and 3D print it for use at home!
Learn to search for free cookie cutter designs on the internet, what to look for in designs, and how to download them. Also, learn the basics of 3 dimensional design to design your own cutter to be 3D printed. You can apply those skills at a later time to create more intricate designs and shapes.

Aluminum Foundry
Come experiment with molten metal and learn how to build your own back yard foundry!
Do you need custom metal parts? Does the thought of melting metal sound fun? Come to the Foundry and Metal Casting class to learn the basics of metal casting and foundry work. Topics will include how to build a foundry as well as safety, mold-making, sand casting, and foundry operation. The class will conclude with a demonstration. Long pants, long sleeve shirts, closed-toe shoes, and safety glasses are required. Safety glasses will be provided if you do not have a pair.

Mosaics
Have you ever wanted to cover that old ugly table or make a wall hanging with glass and other found objects? Come learn about making custom mosaics. Adhesives and grouting will be covered and well as different material choices, designs, and layouts. This is a two part class. The first part will cover your design, layout options, materials, and adhesive choices. You can bring your completed or in progress work to the second part where we will cover grouting and sealing your mosaics. Student are responsible for bringing their own mosaic materials (glass, plates, found objects to class) and will purchase their adhesive and grout choices separately. Student have an option to purchase nippers or glass cutters or bring their own.

Words On The Wall
Class will cover what is a digital cutter, what it will cut, how to setup your document to design your cut, Designing your project, making your cut, weeding (removing your cut and the extra pieces from it), and apply your words on the wall. Supplies: $6

Custom Food grade Silicone Molds
Once you have passed the 3D printer class, use the 3D printer after learning tinkerCAD to create a custom object. We will talk about mixing and pouring silicone to make your molds. Due to the time for the silicone to dry, we will not make the molds in class, but you will have all the information to complete your molds at home.
