Printers, Lasers, Vinyl and Board Games

Library Winter Gathering

The Park County Library System’s Winter Gathering this past Saturday was a fantastic way for the Powell Makerspace to showcase its partnership with the library and get in front of the community!

We had a great time showing off out 3D Printer, digital embroidery machine, and the plethora of examples we brought along to showcase our equipment.

The most rewarding part of the day was definitely speaking to all of the interested members of the community.  We had people of all ages coming in to chat and learn more about the Makerspace.  We hope to see all of them again either in one of our classes or taking advantage of the free two week pass they can get from the library.

And speaking of classes, definitely check out the tiles below to see what is coming up this week!

Select these tiles to see the events we are hosting this week!

Park County Library Foundation's Winter Gathering

This Saturday, January 26th the Makerspace will be closed as we send representatives to the Park County Library System’s Winter Gathering.

This event is a great way to find out everything that the Library System has going on and to learn a little bit more about the Powell Makerspace while you are at it.  We hope to see you there!

Plenty of Activities Coming Up with PVCE

There are plenty of classes coming up this spring, thanks to our friends over at Powell Valley Community Education.  Interested in looking a little further ahead?  Check us out in the Spring 2019 Catalogue or see our events listing!

Custom Catan

Customize your game this Saturday!

Settlers of Catan is a great family board game in which you compete with others to collect resources and build your settlement.  The game is designed with many board tiles that can be rearranged each time you place to ensure that the situation is never the same.

We have found that the game is awesome, but you can take it to the next level by designing your own board tiles.  By altering the design to make the tiles interlock and the number tokens slide slot into place we can prevent them from scattering when someone accidentally bumps the table.

Ready to Sign Up?

We have too sessions for this activity scheduled, and the first one is this Saturday Jan. 19 from 11 am to 1pm.  If you are ready to join us, hope over to our event page to sign up now!

Still not sure what the game is? Check out this little video from the game producers:
